Our History
CSSI 2000 Alumni Association came into existence years after our secondary school days with the objectives of fostering relationships amongst old friends. We were able to bridge this gap using BBM as means of communication during the early days of Blackberry. Membership within the association grew exponentially and finally became well-established and registered in 2015
The association metamorphosed from Black Berry Messenger (BBM), where members gathered to celebrate the weddings and birthdays of other members. To further foster this co-existence beyond, the CSSI Alumni was registered as a nonprofit organization by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2015.
Retrospectively, lots of positive developments have been recorded within the association. To mention a few, the association was able to fully renovate the dilapidated CSSI kitchen. This project was indeed a laudable achievement. The association through the various committees set-up have been able to support members with financial needs championed by the Welfare committee. Worthy of note is the fund that was raised to mitigate economic effect on members during the Covid-19 lock down. Monthly webinar organized by the Project/Wellness Committees had also helped educate members on certain topics that was deemed productive for collective learning. All these developments were made possible due to the unity and cooperation of members of the Association and our tenacious spirit to keep moving forward despite the challenges we face which we see as our fuel for progress, we press on breaking new grounds in achieving our goals and objectives daily is fulfilling the Vision of the Association.
To bridge the gap between the CSSI management and its pupils, the current executives will be mandated to set up the Alumni Relations Unit with the Endowment Unit to foster relationships with CSSI pupils and expose them to sundry of opportunities. This will be achieved through immersive mentorship. There are also future plans by the association to grant scholarships to pupils up to tertiary level and also create several work-shop that can help nurture talents, giving them a platform to express their gifts after secondary education.
